With its comprehensive features and 630 W motor rating, the BT-BD 701 bench drill enables high-precision drilling for a wide spectrum of jobs. Twelve speed settings from 220 to 2,450 min-1 permit optimum adjustment to the requirements imposed by the material and the bit used. Using the robust scroll chuck the bit can be changed in a few seconds; an MK2 chuck permits the use of bits with a Morse taper for larger drilling diameters. The drilling spindle of the BT-BD 701 runs with extreme precision thanks to its ball bearing and V-belt drive. The speed is controlled through friction locking by a stepped belt pulley. The torsion-resistant drill table is infinitely variable in height and can be tilted and swiveled without difficulty into the required working position. A drilling depth stop with scale ring for single-handed adjustment enables high-precision, repeat drilling depths. The sturdy foot of the BT-BD 701 is equipped with slots for fitting a vice. High-grade rubberized handles and a folding chip guard provide a high level of safety while working. The On/Off switch with zero-voltage release prevents the machine from starting up again unintentionally after a power failure.
